Directions from Grenoble to the campus

You can get from Grenoble train/bus station or town center to the Campus by tramway (the easiest way). Take Line B and stop at "Bibliothèques Universitaires". It takes 20 to 30 minutes from town center.

Tram tickets are available from ticket machines at tram stops. They must be time-stamped before abording the tramway. Tickets are valid for one-way trips including transfers within one hour of being time-stamped.

Directions to Grenoble

By plane

From Lyon airport

The easiest way to get to Grenoble by plane is to fly to the international Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport. It is situated 95 km north-west of the city off the A43 highway to Lyon.

Once in the airport, the most convenient way to come to Grenoble is to use the shuttle (called the "Satobus") to the Grenoble bus station. The trip takes about 65 minutes. You can find schedules and prices at the Satobus website.

The Lyon airport also has a train station. However, only few trains is scheduled daily between the airport and Grenoble.

From Paris airport

You can also land in the Roissy Charles De Gaulle aiport, in the north-east of Paris. Once there, you have several possibilities:

  1. Take a TGV train from the terminal 2 which will lead you to Grenoble, either directly, or connecting at the Lyon Part Dieu railway station.
  2. Take the "bus Air France" to the "Gare de Lyon" railway station in Paris and then go to Grenoble by TGV.
  3. Take public transportation to get to the Paris "Gare de Lyon" railway station. For further details, see the RATP website.

From Geneva airport

You can also land in the Geneva Cointrin International Airport in Switzerland. From there, you can take shuttles, buses or trains to Grenoble.

From Grenoble airport

Another way to get to Grenoble is to fly to the Grenoble-Saint Geoirs Airport. It is 45 km north of Grenoble. i.e. about 45 minutes by car from the city downtown.

By train

Grenoble is well served by trains. For instance, the trip Paris-Grenoble by TGV takes 3 hours. Further information on train schedules and prices can be found at the TGV website

By car

Grenoble is reachable by highways from many places in France and Swizerland.
